Up until 2006 I had been involved in basket making on a professional level trading under the name of Basket Barn - www.basketbarn.ie.
Years of craftwork lead to an interest in learning basketmaking, from Joe Hogan in Loch na Foey, Co.Galway.
Since then I have developed my basket making with emphasis on function, shape and utilizing colour to create beautiful baskets. I grow most of my own willow along the River Boyne.
Some of the places I have exhibited are in the Craft’s Council of Ireland’s “Basket Making-Tradition Today” curated by Mary Butcher and Joe Hogan, and Christmas Presence ‘03 and ’04, and My Home.ie in the RDS, Dublin, which is the St. Patrick’s Day Show in ’04 and ’05.
Recently I have tried to develop some contemporary work. My work is in the homes and offices of several collectors.
